2 arrested for illegal possession of firearms in Quirino

Farmer and a Businessman arrested for illegal possesion of firearms

AGLIPAY, Quirino – As a result of their intensified campaign against illegal firearms, personnel of the Quirino Police Provincial Office (QPPO) arrested a farmer from City of Ilagan and a businessman from San Mariano, Isabela for violation of RA 10591 or Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunitions.


In a press release posted at the QPPO Facebook account, the arrested persons were Danilo Alicon, 54, farmer and a resident of Brgy San Antonio, Cabeseria, City of Ilagan and Deo Malinao y Cenit, 23, married, businessman and a resident of Bgy. Alibadabad, San Mariano, Isabela.


Found in Alicon's posession were one Caliber 45 Pistol with serial number 911963, one short magazine loaded with eight live ammunitions of the same caliber, one extended short magazine loaded with nine live ammunitions of the same caliber and other pertinent documents named to him.


Also, the Quirino Police confiscated one brown leather sling bag containing caliber 45 Pistol model P-Z with serial number 151054 (loaded), with inserted magazine loaded with seven live ammunitions, 24 live ammunitions of caliber .45, five empty shells of caliber .45, T P28,000.00 in different denomination, one unit Huawei cellphone and other pertinent documents and IDs named to Malinao.


A case of violation of “Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunitions” is being prepared against the arrested persons.


Meanwhile, Provincial Director, Police Colonel Rommel Rumbaoa has commended the operating troops for their relentless efforts in the implementation of the anti-criminality campaign.


Rumbaoa has also reiterated his appeal to the public to report to the nearest police station similar crime incidents in their respective areas. (MDCT/TCB/PIA Quirino)
