BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya – The local government unit of Ambaguio recently received P10 million funding assistance from the provincial government.
The funding assistance represents the counterpart fund of the provincial government for the repair and improvement of the Ammoweg-Camandag Farm-to-Market Road (FMR).
The fund was sourced from the Philippine Rural Development Program (PDRP) for Nueva Vizcaya.
Ambaguio Mayor Arnold Dinungon who received the assistance from Governor Carlos Padilla said the funding assistance will surely realize their plan and vision for their FMR to become accessible to farmers especially in the upland and remote areas.
"Our municipality's economy mainly depend on agriculture that provides income for our villagers. This help will enable us to carry out the improvement and rehabilitation works needed for our FMRs that will benefit our farmers," he said.
Dinungon also added that the funding for the Ammoweg-Camandag road will boost the national government's Whole of the Nation Approach to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (ELCAC).
He said improved roads that will serve their upland farmers will drive away the influence of the New Peoples Army(NPA) who were reportedly frequenting the two barangays in previous years.. (MDCT/BME/PIA 2-Nueva Vizcaya)
