The NTF-ELCAC commends the Prosecutors of Region 13 for their Efforts in Ending the Local Communist Armed Conflict


In an order dated June 16, 2022, Branch 7 of the Regional Trial Court in Bayugan City, Agusan Del Sur granted the Motion for Reconsideration filed by the prosecution team under the guidance and supervision of Region 13 Regional Prosecutor John Magdaraog in Criminal Case No. 6527 for Kidnapping and Serious Illegal Detention against several members of the CPP-NPA-NDF including one Dr. Maria Natividad Castro. A warrant of arrest was again issued against accused Dr. Castro.

With this most recent development, the NTF-ELCAC commends the prosecutors of Region 13 for their competence, zeal, patriotism, and commitment to winning the peace by putting an end to the local communist armed.

We reiterate our faith in the judicial system and processes and our adherence to the rule of law. Dr. Naty Castro, as well as her co-accused, will have their day in court and shall be afforded all the rights and privileges of an accused as enshrined in our Constitution and laws.

On one hand, we call on those who support Dr. Naty Castro to respect the rule of law and let due process take its course.

Some of these supporters have vented their emotions against NTF-ELCAC Spokesperson Dr. Lorraine Marie Badoy in an attempt to prevent her from unmasking and exposing the truth about the accused Dr. Castro.
