New nat'l security adviser to boost NTF-ELCAC efforts

The government's anti-communist task force is confident that the newly-appointed National Security Adviser (NSA) will back its peace and development efforts.

Emmanuel Salamat, executive director of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC), expressed optimism that NSA Secretary Eduardo M. Año will intensify the efficient delivery of the task force's services.

“As someone who already had the privilege to serve under Secretary Año’s leadership, I am certain that he will be a boon to the National Task Force. Both as Chief of Staff and DILG Secretary, he had already proven that he values the efficiency of an organization above anything else," Salamat said.

"With the National Task Force’s success in peace and security efforts, it is time to further strengthen and double our delivery of development programs and projects, and I know that he will never let us down,” the Executive Director added.

Salamat said the NTF-ELCAC is honored to work with Secretary Año, who is a decorated military man and former Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

He also served as Interior Secretary under the Duterte administration.

“We are all honored and humbled as Secretary Año joins the NTF-ELCAC in its effort to institutionalize the Whole-of-Nation and Whole-of-Government Approach as its new Vice Chairman," Salamat emphasized.

"We pledge our support to his leadership as we pursue lasting peace and prosperity for the Filipino People,” he said.

The NTF-ELCAC projects the dismantling of all remaining guerilla fronts within this year.
