On the Commemoration of the International Day of Remembrance of and Tribute to the Victims of Terror

The National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC) stands in solidarity with the United Nations and the global community in reflecting and commemorating the International Day of Remembrance and Tribute to the Victims of Terrorism with the Theme “Legacy: Finding Hope and Building a Peaceful Future”.
We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the victims of these terrorist acts in different parts of the world. Despite the international condemnation and global efforts of the United Nations, these vile acts of terrorism still exist in modern society. Acts of terror are virtually present, ignited by some ideologies that promote violence and continue to threaten and disrupt the peaceful lives of thousands of innocent victims every year.
The Filipino people have not been immune to the scourge of terrorism. The CPP-NPA-NDF’s continuous acts of terror have left a trail of destruction, claiming the lives of innocent civilians, indigenous peoples, endangering the communities in the countryside, and destroying the very fabric of our society.
We remain resolute in our commitment to confront and counteract these acts of terror through a Whole of Nation approach. By addressing the root causes of the insurgency, fostering peace and development, and strengthening the bonds of unity among our communities, we aim to pave the way for a future free from fear and violence.
The NTF-ELCAC, with its 12 National Clusters and 17 Joint Regional Task Forces and Local Task Forces nationwide, stand together with the United Nations and the international community in our shared determination to eradicate terrorism in all its forms. Let us remember the victims, honor their memory, create meaningful and positive change by raising awareness about the long-lasting impact of terrorism, and renew our resolve to build a world where peace, tolerance, and understanding prevail.
The NTF-ELCAC remains steadfast in our mission to bring an end to the local communist armed conflict and create a nation where every citizen can live in peace, prosperity, and harmony.
