RTF6-ELCAC Statement on the SC Ruling Upholding the Constitutionality of R.A. No. 11479

In a majority vote of 12-3, the Supreme Court of the Philippines upheld the constitutionality of the Anti-Terrorism Act of 2020.

The portions that were declared unconstitutional by the SC does not render the spirit of the law ineffective.

The SC ruling will be remembered in the history of this great nation as the ruling that ramified the single piece of legislation that will usher in a new era of a just and lasting peace for the Filipino people.

This is one of the Philippine Supreme Court's finest moments.

Today, the Filipino people has won a moral victory against the forces of terror masquerading as "revolutionaries".

Today, the CPP-NPA-NDF terrorist organization's five decade masquerade ends.

With the Philippine society slowly easing back to pre-pandemic normalcy, the true nature of the CPP-NPA-NDF terrorist organization and their pseudo legal fronts are unmasked.

In the context of the gains made by the NTF-ELCAC in ending the local communist armed conflict by adapting the whole-of-nation approach thru good governance,

--- the declaration of the constitutionality of the ATA of 2020 will provide the government and the state security forces a solid basis to enforce the full force of the law against terrorists and all those who are supporting them.

The ATA of 2020 is the clear, glaring, and firm reminder to all terrorist organizations in this country that as enemies of the Filipino people, the government will not hesitate to use all applicable provisions of the law to effectively neutralize them and to render them totally ineffective to cause damage to the life, liberty, and property of each and every citizen of this country.

We reiterate our plea to the remnants of the CPP-NPA-NDF to lay down your arms, return to the folds of the government, be reunited with your families, be a part of your communities again. Live in peace.

Kasama, hindi pa huli ang lahat para sa iyo.

We do not want to see more Filipino lives wasted in a hopeless cause that has lost meaning and morality a long time ago, or more appropriately,

a cause that has no reason and meaning in the first place,

except to overthrow the government.

Mga kapatid na naliligaw ng landas, kayong mga nasa kabundukan pa at mga nagtatago sa mga natitira ninyong mga lungga, sumuko na kayo alang-alang sa kapayapaan.

Surrender now or face the full force of the law.
